Kat Wright & The Indomitable Soul Band – Live

We’re always excited for local Burlington acts, and Kat Wright & The Indomitable Soul Band especially so. Formed in 2010, the band is an eight piece ensemble featuring Kat Wright on vocals, Shane Hardiman on keys, Josh Weinstein on bass, Dan Ryan on drums, Bob Wagner on guitar, Luke Laplant on baritone saxophone, Jake Whitesell also on saxophone, and Dave Purcell on trumpet. Wright’s soulful vocals put a velvet touch over tight grooves of the funky instrumental section. The sound of the group harkens back to simpler time when artistry took precedence over fashion and musicianship reigned supreme. With a hint of jazz and bit of funk blended with a whole lot of soul, KWISB is one of the great emerging groups from Burlington.
