The Ontario-based rockers of Born Ruffians have been consistently moving the indie rock scene forward for over a decade with their signature brand of clean and merry, yet delightfully rough-edged guitar riffs backed by driving drum beats that fluctuate between the organic and the synthetic in texture. Their aggressively chipper and assertive rhythmic section lays the foundation for lead singer Luke Lalonde’s sonically complimentary vocal melodies, which range from soft and intimate to robust and formidable. Their latest album, RUFF, was released in October via Paper Bag Records (Canada) or Yep Roc Records (for the rest of the world).
The guys left us with a treasured recording of their killer live set at Signal Kitchen back in 2013, and here again they’ve agreed to make their October 2015 show available for us to share with you. After you let this sink in, don’t forget to check out the band’s custom Spotify playlist and our interview with Luke Lalonde.
