Cuddle Magic – Live

Coming to us from Brooklyn, New York, the eccentric “dance listening music” sextet, Cuddle Magic, traveled to Signal Kitchen to let us in on a piece of their newest album Info Nympho, which was released just a few weeks prior on March 5. The sound of the group is much like their personas – light-hearted yet sentimental, sarcastic yet serious. Their arrangements harken back to Sufjan Stevens and do well at picking up where he left off. While their hats are tipped to the world of chamber pop, rest assured that Cuddle Magic has plenty of uniqueness to venture into new modern territory. Their vocal harmonies and contrapuntal writing feel familiar, yet their style and attitude is something new – something to behold. From the moment we sat down with the group for an interview, we knew that this show would be something remarkably unusual as well as unusually remarkable.
