Amelia Devoid’s fascination with digital recording began at a young age. Raised in the suburbs of Burlington, Vermont, her career began in the city’s diverse underground music scene. An avid aural collector, sharing early bills with dance and punk acts profoundly shaped the foundation of her sound.
Devoid creates ethereal soundscapes that are uniquely driven by one of her earliest fascinations — field recordings. Her keen sonic curation invites the listener on a journey that simultaneously defies classical form and conjures her deep love and understanding of pop. With this palette, Devoid paints an introspective patchwork of her experiences. Currently an artist in residence at New City Galerie in Burlington, Devoid will be releasing her third album, “Hypogeum” on European experimental label SØVN this November.
