Burlington’s own Vermont Joy Parade came to our Main St. venue to share a bit of their quirky blend of Americana, folk, old-time, indie-rock, country, dixieland, blues and a number of other genres from which the seven-piece group has drawn influence. The band consists of Ben Aleshire on trumpet/vocals, Benjamin Strosberg on banjo/vocals, Dan Fancher on drums/percussion, Anna Pardenik on guitar/vocals, Galen Peria on accordion/piano/vocals, Devin Robinson on resonator guitar/vocals, and Taylor smith on bass fiddle/vocals.
We were lucky enough to get a double set from the Vermont Joy Parade who spent several hours laying on classic good-time feelings and traditional party vibes for their hometown crowd. Although this night was a local affair, the band has toured extensively all over North America and Europe. They have performed their roots-focused jams in front of big crowds at notable festivals and arenas like Bonnaroo or the Frankfurt Festhalle in Germany. We were happy to host their international talent for a homecoming night here in Burlington.
