Waking Windows Presents: (the) Thurston MoOre Baand w. Chain and The Gang

The driving force behind the legendary band Sonic Youth, Thurston Moore has had a sublimely powerful influence over the alternative rock genre for years. His latest effort, a solo project titled The Best Day is another soon-to-be classic born from his hands. Moore and his band will be joining us at ArtsRiot to share selections from the album, his first solo release since 2010. Once named by Rolling Stone magazine as one of the top 100 greatest guitarists of all time, this is not a show to be missed. Joining Moore will be Ian Svenonious and his band Chain & the Gang. Exploring territory in the untapped genre of “crime rock,” the band will be heading steadfastly through the night into themes of rock, blues, gospel, and vocal traditions of the 1950s and 60s. Svenonious has amassed his following not only through Chain & the Gang, but also through his leadership efforts in Nation of Ulysses and The Make-Up.
