Dumpstaphunk

Tandem bass riffs underneath dripping, juicy funk arrangements and four part harmonies are what the New Orleans-based ensemble Dumpstaphunk is all about. With a heavy jazz and blues influence, this funky group of all-star musicians is an experience to be had for both the mind and body. Formed in 2003, the band is on their third studio release, the latest of which, Dirty Word, has been receiving critical acclaim from funk enthusiasts across the globe since 2013. Breaking out of the impossibly competitive New Orleans funk and jazz scene as a standout act, the group deserves every bit of international attention they have received for their high-energy, danceable and yet musically intriguing grooves. They will join us at ArtsRiot for a night of pulsing, soulful jams that should not be missed.
