Cannibal Ox

Harlem, New York’s Cannibal Ox has been influencing the underground hip-hop scene for nearly two decades. The duo features lyrical legends Vast Aire and Vordul Mega on the mic, letting loose their signature brand of gritty, alternative and always heavy-hitting flow. The pair has officially been releasing music since 2001, and their line-up of both studio and live albums, compilation work, and their handful of single releases function as a lesson in the history of genuine hip-hop, despite a brief hiatus in the late 2000s. The guys have returned to recording and their latest release arrived in March of this year in the form of a studio album titled Blade of the Ronin. The album features a slew of serious artists including U-God, MF Doom, Elzhi, and many others lending support from start to finish. Cannibal Ox operates outside the bounds of passing trends and fads and will delight any real hip-hop fans with the timeless vibe of their music.
