Featuring special guest Dudley Perkins
Inspired by solid ’70s soul, free jazz, and a bottom-heavy hip-hop thump, Georgia Anne Muldrow paints a unique musical canvas that makes you stop to gaze and take it all in. The first female artist signed to leading hip-hop label Stones Throw Records, Muldrow began collaborating with rapper Dudley Perkins (aka “Declaime”) after the release of her first album. Known for her unorthodox, sample-free original production, Muldrow has earned a reputation as one of today’s leading producers, while Perkins helped the LA underground rap scene by producing artists like The Lootpack, Madlib, Oh No, and The Alkaholiks. Mos Def said about Muldrow, “She’s like Flack, Nina Simone, Ella . . . She makes her own beats, she rhymes, she sings, and she plays.” Muldrow and Perkins bring their band to Burlington for a mind-expanding R&B show.
