From concept to completion, we worked with a client to create Rebel Yell: a recording studio and creative destination isolated on 140 acres of wilderness in Craftsbury, VT. The facilities provide a unique opportunity for artists and musicians to live and work bucolically.
Off the grid and powered by renewable solar energy, the property offers a large cabin and an isolated tinyhouse, a full featured hybrid analog/digital recording studio, hand-built open fire oven, and many natural wonders including logging trails, a spring-fed pond, maple groves, and more to explore.
Our team planned and built the recording studio, including selecting gear, sourcing from vendors, installation, and fine-tuning. We also carried out all branding and identity. Keeping in mind the spirit of the brand, we developed the aesthetic and functionality of the entire facility. Other work included web development, logo design, video production, and even the creation of a custom-made flag.
Since its launch, Rebel Yell has attracted many artists including national acts such as Foxing, Into It. Over It., and others. We consistently receive new inquiries from artists seeking to create in the solitude of nature. The space (and the work created in it) has been shared on artists’ social media pages and received press in SPIN magazine, VPR, Seven Days, Destination VT, and the Burlington Free Press. We’ve taken the initial momentum of the idea and are currently planning significant developments for the property.
