Marco Benevento – Live

Born in 1977 in Livingston, New Jersey, Marco Benevento took up the piano when he was just seven years old. He continued to play and went on to study keyboards at the Berklee College of Music under jazz pianist Joanna Brackeen. By the time he was 22 he had broken deep into the New York music scene, drawing on his influences of rock, jazz, and experimental music. By 2006 he was touring with Trey Anastasio – former front man of our own Burlington, Vermont’s Phish.

Presently, Benevento tours as a trio with Dave Dreiwitz on bass and Andy Borger on drums. The threesome came to Burlington during the annual Discover Jazz Festival and let us in on some classic tunes and some from their latest album TigerFace, which came out later in 2012 on The Royal Potato Family record label.
