Blake Mills

Hailing from Southern California, Blake Mills has established himself as a multi-talented songwriter, guitarist, producer, and composer. With a long list of production credits and highly praised collaborations, Mills has relentlessly proven himself to be an institution in music. He will be joining us at Signal Kitchen to share selections from his sophomore solo album, titled Heigh Ho. This release follows his wildly successful freshman album Break Mirrors, released in 2010. Drawing from his refined and holistic perspective on the music-making process, Heigh Ho has revealed itself to be a wonderful showcase of all that Mills has to offer. Recorded at Capitol Record’s famous Ocean Way studio, the album takes a fresh yet traditional approach to blues, country, and folk-influenced rock. Favoring sophisticated and laid back guitar work over the often-fatiguing exuberance of the genre, Mills has created the perfect backdrop for his soulful and touching lyrical abilities.
