Toronto, Ontario native Doug Paisley is the embodiment of the traditional singer-songwriter form. His country-infused, slightly twangy brand of folk harkens back to “simpler” times and an era when audiences focused on musicianship and authenticity of emotion over trends and spectacle. In fact, Paisley could be considered to be in direct opposition to the spectacle philosophy of performance. His humility is palpable to the point that the music he creates seems to be flowing through his body instead of originating from it. Despite his unassuming nature, Paisley’s tunes demand attention through their emotional potency. He is able to captivate his audience through intimacy and immediacy that is so rare and so valuable in the world of music. He did just that for the Signal Kitchen crowd as he enchanted all those in attendance from the first sweet strum of his guitar to his last crooning lyric. Releasing music since 2008, Paisley gave the world his third full-length studio album, Strong Feelings, in January of 2014.
