If you’ve never experienced transcendence, listening to Caspian might just help to get you there. From epic crescendos to spacey guitar riffs and pulsing drum beats, Caspian has shown themselves to be competent sculptors of sound. Dynamics played a key role in the soundscape of their set with us in Burlington, taking us to the highest of the highs and the lowest of the lows.
The group is a sextet currently consisting of Philip Jamieson, Calvin Joss, Johnny Ashburn, Joe Vickers, Erin Burke-Moran, and Jani Zubkovs. The idea behind the music took shape roughly in 2003 in Beverly, Massachusetts and has been evolving ever since. Over the course of the last decade they have travelled down the post-rock path while both refining and expanding their sound along with rearranging membership of the band into its current form. Their latest effort arrived in 2013, titled Hymn for the Greatest Generation.
